Embedding Z(3) in SU(3)

چکیده
We consider the design of a non-local MonteCarlo algorithm for SU (3) lattice systems according to the idea of embedding the degrees of freedom corresponding to the center of the group Z(3). As a crucial ingredient to reach this goal, we present a practical implementation of a cluster algorithm for Z(3) systems with general random pair interaction. 1 –2– FERMILAB–Pub–92/226–T

Dyons and S-duality in N=4 Supersymmetric Gauge Theory
We analyze the spectrum of dyons in N = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory with gauge group SU (3) spontaneously broken down to U (1) × U (1). The Higgs fields select a natural basis of simple roots. Acting with S-duality on the W-boson states corresponding to simple roots leads to an orbit of BPS dyon states that are magnetically charged with respect to one of the U (1)'s. The corresponding mo...
متن کاملThe observability of an additional discrete symmetry in the Standard Model
Standard Model may be defined with the additional discrete symmetry , i.e. with the gauge group SU (3) × SU (2) × U (1)/Z (Z = Z 6 , Z 3 or Z 2) instead of the usual SU (3) × SU (2) × U (1). It has the same perturbation expansion as the conventional one. However, it may describe nature in a different way at the energies compared to the triviality bound (of about 1 Tev). In this paper we present...
متن کاملThree Generations in the Fermionic Construction
We obtain three generation SU (3) c ×SU (2) L ×U (1) Y string models in all of the exactly solvable (0, 2) constructions sampled by fermionization. None of these examples, including those that are symmetric abelian orbifolds, rely on the Z 2 ×Z 2 orbifold underlying the NAHE basis. We present the first known three generation models for which the hypercharge normalization, k 1 , takes values sma...
متن کاملEinstein-Skyrme Solitons and Black Holes
In the SU(3) Einstein-Skyrme system static spherically symmetric particlelike solutions and black holes exist for both the SU(2) and the SO(3) embedding. The SO(3) embedding leads to new particle-like solutions and black holes, sharing many features with the SU(2) solutions. In particular, there are always two branches of solutions, forming a cusp at a critical coupling constant. The regular SO...
متن کاملConstraints on the SU(3) Electroweak Model
We consider a recent proposal by Dimopoulos and Kaplan to embed the electroweak SU(2)L × U(1)Y into a larger group SU(3)W × SU(2) × U(1) at a scale above a TeV. This idea is motivated by the prediction for the weak mixing angle sin θW = 1/4, which naturally appears in these models so long as the gauge couplings of the high energy SU(2) and U(1) groups are moderately large. The extended gauge dy...
